I've been trying, without success, to teach Logan to take pride in the way he looks and dresses. This boy would be fine if he never saw a toothbrush, hairbrush, or mirror for the rest of his life. So this morning when he put on his barn coat, he resembled the late Elvis Presley with the collar extended and his dark locks sticking straight up in the air from "bed head".
ME: Son, take pride in your appearance and fix your collar and your hair -- you look like an Elvis impersonator. You can't go to school like that.
LOGAN: Who's Elvis?
ME:
(!?!?!?!??!) Really? Oh, well he's a super famous musical legend.
LOGAN:
(nods in understanding) Oh, yeah, I get it. Like Selena Gomez.
