We woke up well-rested and ready to hit the roller coasters, but if you look carefully in this picture, you can see the radar that weatherman Gavin is examining carefully. How quickly plans can change...
Wild Adventures is not the kind of park you want to be stuck in during a torrential downpour. It has very little shade and even less in the way of covered buildings to hide out in. Nothing like the various 3-D movie options, enclosed rides, and air conditioned shopping areas that you find at Disney. In fact, the park ended up being entirely closed for the morning and into a bit of the afternoon. We improvised and had a little "birthday party" for the kids in the hotel room while we waited.
But there's only so much you can do to entertain the kids in a hotel room during a rain storm. I was thankful for our combined total of 3 Ipads, 1 Nintendo DS, 1 Leapster gaming system, 2 Ipod touches, and 2 televisions to keep them occupied!
The weather finally decided to cooperate and we hit the park. To their delight, the boys were tall enough to go on some new rides (and not tall enough for some others), so I don't have pictures of them as we spent the afternoon running from ride to ride standing on our tippy toes trying to convince the ride operators to let us on. As a side note, Gavin has surpassed Logan in height and weight. We tell him this is due to the fact that he is the only child milk drinker in our house. Logan is about an inch shorter which causes quite an issue on the rides that they are not quite tall enough to legally ride to begin with. Logan has been doing everything he can (aside from drinking milk) to make himself grow.
Back at the hotel for happy hour, the kids took their first dip in a hot tub!
To be continued...
