When the cat's away...

...the mice will play!

While Daddy was in Orlando on a business trip, this is what we did...

We went to the park and found a puppy to play with. We tried to convince Daddy that we had adopted him, but he knows me all too well!

We ate dinner in the park at Lake Ella.
And Papa came to join us!

Daddy ate Subway during the car ride down with T.K. And we thought T.K. only ate McDonald's!
I think he's trying to rub it in with his beautiful view...
...and these guys!!!!
But look, we're having fun too!
We rented some movies and bought bubble tape!
We baked a cake...
...and got to lick the beaters!

We decorated it with all of the frosting and sprinkles we could find!
Keegan wore my rain boots to stay dry.

We had fun and got to sleep over in Mama's bed, but we sure were glad to have Daddy back home again!

sideline entertainment

While the boys play football and Daddy coaches, Keegan and I find ways to entertain ourselves on the sidelines. Lucky for us there's a playground at the park where their games are held.

Thankful for Gram

For the second week in a row Logan has assisted Jay in making "Gram's Spaghetti". For the second week in a row at the dinner table when asked, Logan is "thankful for Gram so that we have this wonderful recipe to eat!" I concur!

man of the house in training

We're getting a new roof today and they are in the demolition phase. It sounds like Santa and his reindeer have landed on our roof and are digging their hoofs into it. It's kind of freaking out the kids despite the fact that the guy in charge happens to be a friend of ours and came in the house this morning to explain what was about to happen. Daddy's at work, so we're on our own.

LOGAN:  Mom, are you SURE these people are, like, PROFESSIONALS?

ME:  Yeah, it's Jason! Why?

LOGAN:  Because, I mean, I just want to make sure they know what they're doing and everything. I mean, they're making a big mess and they could fall through the roof and don't you know that lots of things could happen,Mom?

ME:  Yeah, but they know what they're doing.

LOGAN:  Ok, well I'm just making SURE.

mom of boys

You know you're a mom of boys when the car conversation shifts from out-telling each other in "throw up stories" to out-telling each other in "fart stories" following the introduction of a potent boy fart which required all four windows down and the sun roof wide open.
