Halloween Writings By My Favorite Kindergartener

"I like candy corn because they are delicious."
"To get rid of a skeleton's hiccups i would get him the flu shot."

The Allison Weekly 11/11/2013-11/17/2013

This week we celebrated 12 years of marriage. It's hard to believe it's been that long! Nana and Papa finally made it back from their world travels, and just in time to give us a bottle of champagne from France from Roy and Nancy. They happily took the kids for a sleepover after not seeing them for almost a month (and spoiled them with souvenirs) so we could have a date night. Sushi dinner -- He still knows the way to my heart after all these years.

In other news, Keegan had his first fluffernutter sandwich. And loved it.

We had a second date night and a second round of sushi!

Seminole gummies and a lunch date with Ella.

Lunchtime Topics

So, Keegan and Ella are getting ready to go to their first FSU basketball game together and I overhear this lunchtime conversation...

KEEGAN: I'm so excited to go to the FSU basketball game! And we can kiss at the basketball game too!
ELLA:  But then everyone will think we're boyfriend and girlfriend.
KEEGAN: We are!!!!!!!
ELLA: (astonished) Whoa. I didn't see THAT one coming.

I Am Poem

I Am Poem
By: Logan Allison
October 2013

I am sporty.
I wonder how to be like FSU's basketball team.
I hear shoes sliding against the floor.
I see Lebron dunking.
I want to play video games.
I am Logan.

I pretend to be Lebron James.
I feel like I am a basketball star.
I touch the basketball.
I worry I'll drop it.
I cry, "We won! We won!"
I am dunking.

I understand math.
I say 5+5=10.
I dream of Lebron James making a three.
I try making a three.
I hope I make it.
I am happy I made it.

Tallahassee Seasons

Tallahassee Seasons
By: Logan Allison
October 2013

What's your favorite season in Tallahassee? Mine is winter because of Christmas, coldness, and New Years.

First, let's start with Christmas. I really like Christmas because of toys. When you wake up and see all the toys you feel so good because you knew you were good the whole year. Everybody likes to be surprised! The feeling of when you rush out of your bed and into the living room to see all your good toys feels so good. You don't want your tree too thick or too thin. Neither do you want it too big or too little. You want your tree to be just right for winter.

Next comes coldness. The best part about coldness is no sun beating down on you. No sun means to warmness. I only like to run in the winter because of coldness. Running in the cold makes your lungs freezing but it's better than running in the hot sun sweating. When it's cold outside you have to love the feeling of rushes of cold air on your face. You wish you can just stay in that part of Tallahassee.

Last, but not lease, comes New Years. The best thing about New Years is the singing competition on TV. All the best singers from around the world come to compete in this competition to see if they have a chance to be crowned winner! At midnight the ball drops on the big needle by Times Square. TV reporters are constantly turning their cameras to see how far the ball is from dropping. All this is hosted in Times Square, the middle part of New York.

I think you should live in Florida because of Christmas, coldness, and New Years. The best time in Tallahassee to live is in winter.

A Seed Named Gavin

A Seed Named Gavin
By: Gavin Allison
October 2013

Once upon a time there was a tiny seed named Gavin. I'm the seed named Gavin. I worked day after day to sprout. I never knew, but I was getting closer and closer to popping out of the soil.
Day after day, month after month, I grew. I was getting old. People put fences around me. Next thing I knew, I was in a backyard. I watched the kids in that house play in the backyard. I got bigger and bigger everyday. About fourt years later, I was a teenager. I could see a lot of stuff. For example, other houses, buildings, and roads. About eight years later I was an adult tree. One day I woke up because I felt burning on my trunk. I looked down and they were cutting my trunk off with a chain saw. My trunk fell and I was  dead. My bark sunk into the ground. Day after day, the bark got deeper and deeper into the soil. The bark got moldier and moldier until one day, it turned into decomposed.

My little artist

Recent artwork by Gavin. These are just a few of my favorites. Keep working that creative mind, my love. You are so talented!

 "Mama's milkshake"
"Reading can take you out of this world" -- yearbook cover contest

Boosterthon Fun Run

Nana volunteered at the Boosterthon Fun Run. She was the water girl, but also got to mark off Keegan's laps. He ran 52 laps this year! Mama's super proud of that!

The Allison Weekly: 10/7-10/13/2013

This week was the first week we've had without Daddy around in a long time. I've decided that he just can't leave anymore.

On Monday, the following happened...and boy was it a Monday...
1. I was diagnosed with bronchitis.
2. My car wouldn't start.
3. I smashed my iphone screen

This is how we passed the time:

Gavin made bracelets for everyone and they loved them.
I worked on my plank challenge.
We ate at Po Boys with Nana & Papa.
They wore these weird, stinky things everywhere we went.
We had "sugar break ice cream Tuesday" again and Logan almost won an ipad from the claw machine at the mall...twice! We watched Keegan's gymnastics lesson.
Papa had lunch with the boys.

Chef Keegan helped make dinner, set the table, and served everyone.
This came in the mail -- my new medal holder!
 Gavin made a glider plane.
Finally, Daddy came back home just in time for our football game. We won again!

The Allison Weekly 9/30-10/6/2013

We started the week off right with another Chargers big win! The Allison defense is unstoppable! And we got to see the most beautiful, complete rainbow!

We celebrated Sugar Break Tuesday with some ice cream before heading to Keegan's gymnastics class.

I began the tapering portion of my marathon training this week and promptly got sick! BOO! Had to rally on Friday night for a wedding and again on Saturday morning for a birthday party for one of Keegan's friends.

While we were partying, the boys took a 12.5 mile bike adventure with Daddy before he left for his annual Gartner conference. Shhhhh....don't tell the kids he's going to Disney!

And finally, I got in touch with my inner 8 year-old by learning how to make these cool bracelets with Gavin.

Oh! And the kids watched Grease for the very first time!
