Cheer up, Charlie.

I love this shirt on him (thank you, Pooh and Steve). He looks so cute in it...even if he didn't want his picture taken!

Recruit Coddington Revisited

Eleven years later, my FOX Boot Camp half-shirt has become my child's "Easter Egg Decorating Shirt". We never really understood why those FOX producers made us wear those silly half shirts to begin with, but boy am I glad my "pre-pregnancy abs" were the ones viewed on national television as opposed to the soft abdominal muscle cavity I have been blessed with in 2011. Funny that this shirt fits Keegan as a three year-old.

the very scary Easter Bunny & an egg hunt flop

Keegan's preschool had a pre-Easter party and egg hunt this year. I find it so funny that they bring in giant, walking Easter Bunnies and Santas in costume for the holidays. The parents run around taking ton of pictures trying to force their kids to smile (guilty!), while the 3 and 4 year-olds cry and shake with sheer terror. It really is a sight to see. Fortunately, Keegan has his fearlessly brave brothers to help him conquer the Easter Bunny's lap.
I was trying to take a picture of Keegan with his egg hunting bag and this is what I got.
That's much better.
Here we have one of the two eggs Keegan found during the Easter Egg Hunt. He was so proud! There were maybe 30 kids and about 50 eggs, so he was lucky to get two. So I guess the egg hunt was kind of a flop, but he was clueless.
Talking about their two eggs.

A field trip on his birthday!

A field trip followed by a birthday party? It's GREAT to be a GRIZZLY!

Wakulla Springs National Park
First, we got out a little energy on the playground!

We had an early lunch.
Followed by their famous boat tour. It lived up to it's potential as we saw about 20 (I'm not exaggerating here) alligators and even more turtles and birds.
My birthday boy.
Just one of the many alligators we saw.
Sunbathing Turtles
Turtles line up
Yet another alligator
Can you see him in the background of this picture (click on the photo to enlarge)? It gives you an idea of just how close we were to them.
It's so pristine and beautiful.
Drying out his feathers in the sun.
My favorite tree.
Class photo op. The boy in the red towel had to be convinced to go on the boat ride as he is a non-swimmer. As the kids were running off the boat, excited to go on to the next activity, he was accidentally pushed and fell into the marshy spring waters (where the temperature is always a chilly 70 degrees). It scared him to death and scared those of us chaperoning even more (if that was possible). A quick-acting mom saw it happen and yanked him out, but not before he had completely gone under water. To make matters worse, the only dry clothes we had were "girl clothes". Poor kid.
Back at school, we continued our fun day with birthday cupcakes for Logan's classmates.
We hand-delivered the leftovers to Logan's favorite teachers and staff members. We had to stop by Gavin's class, of course, since Mrs. Zetrouer was at the top of our list!
What a fabulous birthday!

Sensational SEVEN

This year, the kids collectively decided to spend a weekend at Wild Adventures rather than have birthday parties. This was just fine with us, so we are celebrating each birthday as a family and then taking a big trip together in May. Logan's birthday was on a school day this year, but not just your ordinary school day...it was field trip day!

Nana came over in the morning to start of the day by making a special breakfast at Logan's request (note the blue and yellow mini-cupcakes!)
All he wanted were Wii games. Lots and lots of them. We let him open a gift before school.

After school, we had our family party and opened more Wii games.
I think they like this one!
Logan's not big on sweets, so I took them to Publix and let everyone pick out what they wanted from the bakery. Logan chose a donut.
Gavin chose the biggest cookie he could find!
Another year with another great son. You make me so proud, Logan Scott!
